BLINK In September 2007 myself (UK) and Robert Cahen (France) will initiate a new Artist lead project entitled Blink. I sent Robert a short piece of video art and Robert in turn responded with 'Blind Song'. These two pieces were sent on to another artist in another country -and so on - until the project represents an international response, a snapshot of the world at this point in time and the growth of digital consciousness around the world. There are currently 10 comleted works from artists in New Zealand, the Philippines, France, Sweden, Italy, America and so on. Blink will eventually be available to purchase on DVD as a collectors limited edition. The project will be finished in spring 2011. We are supporting a charity for Peruvian Street Children: El Refugio del Rimac. A friend who inherited a house in Lima, from her mother has given it over to the upbringing of street children. This to me is an example of 'direct' help that you the art collector can take part in - as we willingly will give the art, so you willingly will respond with a suggested donation. When the limited edition of Blink appears for sale, the majority of the money gathered will be given over to the charity. This therefore will be an example of direct art and direct action working as one.
