Yuri Neyman ASC, was trained in Russia at the Moscow Film Institute before coming to America and paid his dues a second time before he was welcomed into the American Society of Cinematographers. He is known for shooting the cult movie Liquid Sky and lately was instrumental in setting up the Global Cinematography Institute with co-founder the world renowned Vilmos Sigismond ASC. The position of the Global Cinematography Institute with regards training of cinematographic skills is that the Cinematographer should have a complete understanding of the production process from light entering the lens through to light emanating from the tv or bouncing off the cinema screen - including motion capture, green screen vfx and matte work - in other words the cinematographer should have an understanding of every element of today's production process - just as they did in the early days of cinematography.
