| Though this may seem a fadist pursuit, what manufacturers are actually making and selling is in fact indicative of what they are developing behind closed doors. If there are now more 4k capture devices and recorders, you can be sure there are 8k versions in beta form in development labs. In fact the new Sony F65 has an 8k chip but the camera is 4k. Why? Because of the Nyquist-Shannon Sampling theorem which states that you have to sample at twice the eventual resolution to actually deliver the target resolution.
